Where is Your “Call the Manager” Button?

Some days ago I went for lunch in Restaurant/ Hotel Anna in Targu Jiu. Everything was just above any expectations and within my top dining experience in Romania. Food, service, speed, design, toilets were all just amazing.  However, this is not a promo for a restaurant.

On my table I noticed the remote control you see in the picture. It is a nice way to speed communication with the staff whether you need to see the menu, you want to order something, you want your table to be cleared or you want to see the bill. Interestingly enough, there was a fifth button assigned for calling the manager.

Then I understood why things went so smoothly: giving the option to the client to easily contact the manager is a smart way to, firstly, keep staff and things in order and, secondly, get quick insights on how to improve services. We used it to tell the manager that we felt really good that day.

The lesson is: Do you need your customers to be that close to you management? And if so, where is your “call the manager” button?
